Tao Tao 50cc and 150cc use the popular GY6 scooter engines developed by Honda in the early 80s. The GY6 50 and 150 engines can be upgraded for much better performance than the stock engine is at time of delivery.

More than 75% of Tao Tao scooters are shipped direct to the consumer in need of a PDI. The PDI is the most important part of the scooter delivery. The scooters delivered direct require the consumer to do the PDI. Nt done right and all kinds of problems come up in the first 100 miles. Simple things like charging the battery and riding easy for first 50 miles are often over looked. The complete scooter needs to checked over for any loose nuts and bolts.
