SR770 Mounting Hardware Can Am Spyder 990 2008 We obtained installation information from the Sypderlovers forum! "Four holes have to be drilled in the stock tailpiece with a 3/8 drill and then enlarged to oval shape with a Dremel tool. Probably the touchiest part of the installation. Taillights should not be removed prior to installing the lower frame supports as the rearmost taillight screws cannot be replaced once brackets are mounted. Keep the Dremel handy, as after replacing the plastic tailpiece minor adjustment of holes may be needed. don't worry about the holes being slightly oversize as they will be covered by the upper mounting brackets once installed. I believe I'd fill the area around the holes in the plastic tailpiece with some clear silicone to keep water out of the tail, though I doubt the area is waterproof anyway, and all electrical connections are waterproof already." |  |
